I absolutely loved this story of the Dwarven widow, Duli! How very refreshing to have a female character of such depth and strength. The rest of the characters are also well defined and memorable. There are surprising little touches that will bring a smile to your face even as the harrowing events unfold. Van Dyke’s knowledge of middle-ages weaponry adds authenticity to the action which carries you along to a gripping conclusion. The Widows Brigade is ultimately a force to be reckoned with!
