Realm of Dhea Loral

Let me tell you what is special about my next Twitchcast, this upcoming Saturday night! (Aug 15th, 10pm – midnight CST)

The first “Swords Drawn, Guns Loaded” I broadcast was the “Tomb Raider” reboot which has been hailed as a great new direction for the franchise. Tomb Raider embodies the kind of material I look for in my broadcast. Lots of action, tense gameplay, heroic and oh-my-god moments. This episode was notable for an embarrassingly early death I suffered before the title screen even launched. (I was hitting the wrong buttons.) There is an emotional high-then-low roller coaster that I tried to get to before signing off, and I ran out of time before I got there. Though I got close!

The problem is, despite muting the music, the first Tomb Raider couldn’t be linked on Grievance’s YouTube due to copyrighted music that still played during the game. It can still be viewed on Grievance’s old Twitch streaming channel. http://www.twitch.tv/gtgnstreaming/c/6329544

For what will be my 11th episode of Swords Drawn, Guns Loaded, I want to return to Tomb Raider and play through this very memorable part of the game. Lara Croft spends the early portions just trying to survive. They need a rescue, and it is up to Lara to fight and stealth past cultists to reach the radio tower at the top of the mountain. If she can broadcast from that tower, they have a chance at someone coming to their aid. I finished the first episode with a few fights to go, including what I would call the first “boss” fight, leading up to this emotional scene.

You don’t want to miss this. After all, no guarantee it will be able to be moved to YouTube afterward. Tomb Raider influenced a lot of modern adventure games, and the second installment of this reboot is coming later this year.

Catch me this weekend! http://www.twitch.tv/grievance
