Realm of Dhea Loral

Recently, Kindle changed how they reimburse books delivered to readers via Kindle Unlimited. Authors receive payments based on the amount of pages read, instead of copies sold. This has made tracking “sales” into a different beast.

The important news out of this, is I can see how many pages of my books are getting read through Kindle Unlimited on any given day. Keep in mind, normal Print or Kindle sales are still tracked by the old method and aren’t included in these stats.

However, going by stats alone, almost 5,000 pages were read just on the 4th of July alone. That includes both Inheritance of a Sword and a Path, as well as The Widow Brigade. Whoa! July 3rd wasn’t far behind, with over 4,300 pages read that day. As one moved further from those dates, the numbers sloped down. But what does that mean? A lot of folks were relaxing with a good book over the Holiday weekend. Of course, some of those books were not being read in the US…I’ve sold a lot in Japan and Australia as well. Still, it’s interesting being able to view these stats from Amazon’s tools.

Have you enjoyed my books lately?
